OCR: Due to the region's coldness, the typical southwestern desert plant life of cactuses and yuccas are not usually found in the Great Basin. Instead, the Great Basin's deserts are mostly treeless and are peppered with sagebrush and saltbushes, and grasses are found in the northern, moister parts stretching into Oregon, Idaho and Washington.
